Faoi Ghaelscoil na Cille
Fáilte romhat chuig suíomh idirlín Ghaelscoil na Cille.
Is scoil do chailíní agus do bhuachaillí í Gaelscoil na Cille atá suite i gCill Dhéagláin, Co. Na Mí. Is Gaelscoil í, mar sin múintear na hábhair go léir trí mheán na Gaeilge anseo (ach amháin Béarla) agus is í an Ghaeilge teanga cumarsáide na scoile. Tá grá againn do chultúr agus léann i gcoiteann, agus tá cion ar leith againn don chultúr Gaelach.
Is é ár mian go mbeidh ár bpáistí sona agus sábháilte agus iad ag fás, ag foghlaim agus ag forbairt.

Stair na Scoile
Our School History
Bunaíodh Gaelscoil na Cille i 1981 mar thoradh ar fhís ghrúpa beag tuismitheoirí a raibh oideachas trí Ghaeilge uathu dá bpáistí.
D’oscail an scoil ar an gcéad lá de Mheán Fómhair 1981 le cúig dalta agus dhá scór, maraon lena múinteoirí, Pádraig Ó Dufaigh (Príomhoide) agus Eibhlín Pléamonn. Don chéad trí bliana déag bhí an scoil lonnaithe i seanfhoirgneamh scoile an pharóiste, in aice le séipéal Chill Dhéagláin.
Gaelscoil na Cille was founded by a small group of dedicated parents who wanted an education trí Ghaeilge for their children in 1981. The school opened on Sept. 1st, 1981, with forty five pupils and their two teachers, Príomhoide, Pádraig Ó Dufaigh (Co. Na Mí) and Eibhlín Pléamonn (Co. Chiarraí). For its first thirteen years Gaelscoil na Cille was situated in what was then, the old parish school, beside Ashbourne church.
D’fhás líon na bpáistí agus faoi 1983 bhí gach leibhéal ranga sa scoil. Tógadh foirgneamh scoile nua i 1994. Leag ár gcéad phríomhoide, Pádraig Ó Dufaigh an bhunchloch ar a tógadh carachtar na scoile.
Chothaigh sé pobal scoile ina raibh tuistí ina bpáirtnaeirí leis an scoil in oideachas saibhir, taitneamhach. Thóg Eibhlín Pléamonn ar an mbunchloch sin mar Phríomhoide Gníomhach ó 1992 go dtí 2004. Ceapadh Treasa Uí hEimhrín mar phríomhoide ó 2004 go 2008 go dtí gur éirigh sí as an bpost.
The number of pupils grew steadily and by 1983, every class level was represented in the school. For a number of years, accommodation was an issue for the growing school and parents were generous both with money and time to meet the many challenges facing the fledgling school. When we finally did get a new school building in 1994, our enthusiastic and dedicated parents raised over €80,000 so that our pupils had a proper halla to befit our great love of ceol, dramaíocht and culture in general.
Bhí an Pádraig Ó hEaráin, ball foirne ó 1983 mar phríomhoide I 2008 agus lean sé air go dtí gur éirigh sé as i 2017. Rinne sé an obair i rith na blianta sin chun fís na scoile a bhí leagtha amach ag Pádraig Ó Dufaigh a bhaint amach.
Ceapadh Síle Uí Ghacháin, iar-scoláire, mar phríomhoide ó 2017-2019. Is í Deirdre Nic Uaid, iar-scoláire agus baill foirne, an phríomhoide ó shin go dtí an lá inniu.
Rinneamar ceiliúradh ar 40 bliain den scoil i 2021. Bhí lá oscailte againn agus bhí grianghraif agus rudaí eile curtha ar taispeáintas sa halla. Rineamar é a cheiliúradh le gníomhaíochtaí eile i rith na bliana do na páistí.
Our first príomhoide, Pádraig Ó Dufaigh laid the foundation upon which the character of Gaelscoil na Cille was built. His vision saw parents as partners in an education that ought to be full of variety and fun. He was an inspiring leader who encouraged and nurtured the talents of the young teachers in his team. Pádraig was appointed to a government position in Feb. 1992 and Deputy Principal, Eibhlín Pléamonn took up the mantle, guiding the school through the following twelve years as acting principal. Pádraig Ó Dufaigh retired in 2004 and Treasa Uí Eimhrín, from Rath Cairn, Co. na Mí was appointed as principal. In June 2008, Treasa resigned to take up a post in Marino College of Education and Pádraig Ó hEaráin, a staff-member since 1983, was appointed as Príomhoide. Pádraig dedicated himself to achieving and upholding the vision that was set out for the school by Pádraig Ó Dufaigh back in 1983.
Síle Uí Ghacháin, a past-pupil, was appointed as Principal from 2017 to 2019. Deirdre Nic Uaid, a past pupil and a staff member is Principal of the school since 2019.
We celebrated 40 years of the school in 2021 and marked this with a Lá Oscailte in the halla where photographs and memorabilia from the last 40 years were on display for people to come and view. We also held other activities for the children throughout the year.
